Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the manner of keeping animals in animal shelters present on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, also by defining technical, physical and hygiene claims.
This text further determines: the necessary qualifications of professional staff who is engaged in activities such as animal collection and animal care for the purpose of safe keeping of collected animals in Croatian shelters; the manner for safe and harmless handling of sheltered animals; the operational issues; the contents and manner of keeping of the related Register of shelters. This Regulation is aimed at implementing these biosecurity measures in order to grant a controlled entry and exit of people, animals and vehicles into and out of the shelter, maintaining order and cleanliness, by ensuring the health of the supplied water, eliminating carcasses of animals, and carrying out disinfection, disinsection and pest control.
Conditions for shelter, electricity and backup system are in article 4; water supply related issues are in article 5; maintenance of hygiene is in article 6; disposal of carcasses is defined in article 7; necessary animal information (to be available, also records on vaccination) are listed in article 12; animal isolation rules are stipulated in article 15; facility technical claims are listed in article 22; fro provisions on examination, prophylaxis and animal treatments see article 27.The delivery of data to the local/regional self-government unit is defined in article 34.
