Abstract
This Regulation determines the conditions, criteria and manner of granting aid under measure I.9. "Temporary cessation of fishing activities" within the priorities of the European Union "Encouraging environmentally sustainable, resource efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge-based fisheries", as part of the implementation of the Operational Program for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Croatia for the programming period 2014-2020.
Subject of support is here indicated for temporary cessation of fishing activities carried out in the segment of fishing with surrounding nets by swimmers or anchovies; and it is meant as aid or compensation to the holders of fishing authorizations or permits, including members of the fishing crew, and it shall include a one-time non-refundable fund for such kind of temporary suspension of commercial fishing activities.
These provisions are in accordance with the terms of the Regulation (EU) No 508/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014 on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund; and of the Regulation (EU) no. 1303/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 laying down common provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund, the Cohesion Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and laying down general provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund, the Cohesion Fund and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
The Annex is also part of this publication (Annex I and II, containing the list of selection criteria and compensation calculation methods).
