Abstract
This Regulation sets the criteria for determining marine areas that are adequate for the performance of marine aquaculture activities.
The aim of these provisions is to ensure a harmonious development of aquaculture; to harmonize the activity of aquaculture with other activities present in certain area; to determine the criteria for the classification of what is here defined as most favorable areas for aquaculture in relation to their reception capacity, which will be taken into account in the development phase of spatial plans.
The Annex (I and II) is also part of this publication (assessment of the benefits for cage farming of fish other than tuna; assessment of the benefits for tuna cage growing).
