Abstract
This Regulation, for the purpose of rational management and protection of the eel (Anguilla anguilla), while taking into account the Recommendations of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean GFCM/42/2018/1 on the multiannual management plan for eel in the Mediterranean Sea, here prescribes: eel fishing; notification of eel catch; eel landing; conditions and criteria for the issuance of the Permit for commercial fishing at sea with standing nets for eel fishing; conditions and criteria for issuing a Permit for eel fishing with standing longlines (fishing gear/method).
