Regulation on the implementation of measure I.9 “Temporary cessation of fishing activities”with seine nets-sardines for April/May 2024.

This Regulation prescribes the implementation of support under measure I.9 "Temporary cessation of fishing activities" under Priority 1 of the European Union "Encouragement of sustainable fisheries and restoration and preservation of biological resources" as part of the implementation of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Program of the Republic of Croatia for the program period 2021-2027. The temporary cessation of fishing activities is carried out in the segment of fishing with purse seiners - sardines (seine fishing). The subject of the support is the compensation to the fishing vessel privilege holders and the crew members of the fishing vessel for which this privilege was issued, and includes one-time non-refundable funds for temporary suspension in accordance with the Recommendation of the General Commission for Mediterranean Fisheries GFCM/44/2021/20 on the multi-year plan management for the sustainable exploitation of small bluefish stocks in the Adriatic Sea (geographical sub-areas 17 and 18). A temporary suspension in the sense of this text is a temporary suspension in the period from 16 April 2024 at 00:00hrs until 25 May 2024 at 24:00hrs for a period of 30 days in the area of the entire fishing sea of the Republic of Croatia.
