Regulation on the implementation of measure I.9 "Temporary cessation of fishing activities" with purse seine nets May 2025.

This Regulation prescribes the implementation of support within measure I.9 "Temporary cessation of fishing activities" within Priority 1 of the European Union "Encouragement of sustainable fisheries and restoration and conservation of biological resources" as part of the implementation of the Program for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Republic of Croatia for the program period 2021-2027, that sets temporary cessation of fishing activities which are carried out in the segment of fishing with purse seiners (here planned for the month of May 2025). The subject of the support is compensation to the fishing vessel privilege holders and fishing vessel crew members for whom the privilege was issued, and includes one-time non-refundable funds for temporary suspension in accordance with the Recommendation of the General Commission for Mediterranean Fisheries GFCM/44/2021/20 on the multi-year management plan for the sustainable exploitation of small bluefish stocks in the Adriatic Sea (geographical sub-areas 17 and 18), Recommendation GFCM/47/2024/4 on the multi-year fishing regime and the establishment of catch limits in 2025 for stocks of small bluefish in the Adriatic Sea (geographical subareas 17 and 18).
