Abstract
This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on radiological and nuclear safety, establishes the legislative framework for elements and criteria for evaluating the location of a nuclear installation, in order to fully establish the specific conditions of the location relevant to the safety of such nuclear installation (also for nuclear power plants). This text down requirements for the criteria to be applied in determining the interaction between a site and an installation in operational conditions and emergencies, including natural and man-made events outside a nuclear installation, which are important for safety due to: a) evaluations of the proposed site to ensure that the relevant site characteristics are adequately taken into account; b) analysis of characteristics of the population in the wider area and the possibility of implementing contingency plans during the expected lifetime of the nuclear facility; c) determining the likelihood of occurrence of potentially harmful natural or man-made events significant to the site.
