Abstract
This Regulation officially prohibits the use of traps; and the introduction into the Croatian Republic of fur and products derived from certain wild animal species (which hunt, trap methods and other) that do not meet international humane (animal welfare) standards.
This Regulation also contains provisions that are in accordance with the following acts of the European Union: Council Regulation (EC) No. 3254/91 of 4 November 1991 on the Prohibition of the use of snare in the Community and the introduction into the Community of fur and products derived from certain wild animal species originating in countries where they are hunted with traps or trap methods which do not meet international standards of humane capture with trap (OJ L 308, 9.11.1991); Commission Regulation (EC) No. 35/97 of 10 January 1997 laying down provisions for the certification of fur and products covered by Council Regulation (EC) No. 3254/91 (OJ L 8, 11.1.1997); and Commission Decision 98/596 /EC of 14 October 1998 amending Council Decision 97/602/EC.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
