Abstract
The Agreement aims to promote cooperation in the field of animal health, in particular, the prevetion and combatting of epidemics and their propagation. The Agreement deals with import, export and transit, not only of live animals but also of products of animal origin, feedstuffs and pathogenic agents. It provides for an early warning system of epidemics. The Agreement is valid for five years and will be prolonged for another five years if none of the parties rescind it within six months of its expiry.
