Decree No. 231 of 1997 of the Government on duties and competence of the uniform authority for transport.

Official duties relative to road and railway transport and to navigation are assigned to a central administrative organ established by the Government and supervised by the minister of transport, communication and water affairs. This authority has territorial offices at county level and a Central Inspectorate for Transport. These organs are governed and their decisions are supervised by the General Inspectorate. Administrative duties of each organ are specified in this Decree as well. Annex 1 determines the territorial competence of county offices for transport in relation to navigation.
