Abstract
In compliance with Law No. CXIV of 1993 on stockbreeding, only legally-recognized organizations may keep and register cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, poultry, rabbits, fury animals, bees, fish species for commercial and nutrition purposes. Wild mammals for hunting in delimited areas may also be kept for nutrition purposes. An application for recognition should be submitted to the National Institute for Agricultural Quality Control and shall be judged by the Ministry of Agriculture. Requisites necessary for recognition are set out in Article 20(2) of the principal Law and in Article 2 of this Decree. In accordance with Article 20(f) of the principal Law, Annexes 1 and 3 of this Decree provide rules on the keeping of registers, whereas Annexes 2 and 4 on the keeping of breeding books. Article 3 specifies the content of applications. The implementation of breeding programmes is provided for in Article 4. Criteria for recognition are comtained in Article 5. Recognition is temporary but renewable according to rules specified in Articles 7 and 8. Suspension and withdrawal of recognition status are provided for in Article 9. Article 10 sets forth requisites relative to personnel as well as subsidies for breeding managers.
