Abstract
This Decree applies to the authorization and to the consent of authorization of shipments of radioactive waste and spent fuel across the borders of the Republic of Hungary. The competent authority in this context is the Hungarian National Nuclear Energy Office. According to Chapter II, the request for authorization must be presented to the Office by filling in the request form shown in the Annex to this Decree, in so many copies how many are the countries interested in the shipment. Chapter III deals with the consideration of requests for authorization and for consent of authorization. Provisions regarding rules of return are laid down in Chapter IV. The realization or the failure of shipment, and the cases in which corrective security measures are needed, are ruled by Chapter V. Chapter VI deals with the acknowledgement of the receipt of shipment which, in case of transport to Hungary, must be sent to the Office in 15 days from the receipt of the shipment. The Office must inform the EU Commission according to the provisions of Chapter VII, in case of unmotivated delay or lack of cooperation by one of the Member States. The Office must present its report to the EU Commission every three years, for the first time before 25th December 2011.
