Decree No. 35 of 1990 (II. 28.) MT of the Council of Ministers publishing the Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, signed in Montreal on 16 September 1987.

This decree publishes the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, which aims at protecting the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances believed to be responsible for ozone depletion. The Protocol is structured around several groups of halogenated hydrocarbons that have been shown to play a role in ozone depletion. For each group, the treaty provides a timetable on which the production of those substances must be phased out and eventually eliminated. The ministers of environmental protection and of finance, as well as the president of the Central Statistical Office are responsible for implementation of this Decree.
