Abstract
This Hungary’s Fourth (2015-2020) National Environmental Remediation Programme is a strategic six-year plan for environmental and nature protection. The overall objective of the Programme is: to contribute to sustainable development and environmental conditions for quality of life and human health improvement.
To achieve the overall objective, strategic goals are set up as: 1. Improving the quality of life and environmental conditions of human health. 2. Protection and sustainable use of natural values and natural resources, covering the strategic areas of protection of ecosystems, halting the decline of biodiversity, soil and waters protection and sustainable use, environmental damage prevention and damage control, environmental remediation, etc. 3. Improving resource saving and efficiency, and promoting green economy. Adaptation to climate change is linked to all three objectives. A horizontal goal is to strengthen society's environmental awareness.
