Abstract
This Decree must apply to hazardous waste and any related activities, and to proprietors of hazardous waste, except for radioactive waste. This Decree classifies wastes in three categories regarding their more or less harmfulness on the basis of characteristics listed in Annex 1. A list of waste considered hazardous is set out in Annex 2. This Decree gives rules for the prevention of pollution by hazardous waste, producers of hazardous waste must compile a three years plan for the prevention and treatment of such waste, and proprietors of waste must keep a register. This Decree deals also with the collection, storage, and transport of hazardous waste. Articles 14.-37. determine detailed rules for the treatment of hazardous waste and regard also the import, transit and export of such waste. A fine is foreseen for offenders of the provisions of this Decree as well.
