Law 56/2019 on the legal provisions necessary for the regulation of animal husbandry.

This Law, for the purposes of preservation and maintenance of the animal breeds defined as animal genetic resources (with particular regard to the protected indigenous agricultural animal breeds and endangered agricultural animal breeds), here states that it is prohibited to produce animal species modified by genetic engineering for agricultural purposes. It is further prohibited to clone an animal - unless otherwise provided by law. A budgetary body carrying out activities in accordance with its approved breeding program may acquire membership or a share in a breeding organization. This text also determines the rule and interpretation of related penalties.
