Law 77/2011 on world heritage.

This Law, as in accordance with the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization dated November 16, 1972, promulgated by Legislative Decree No. 21 of 1985, for its effective implementation; in order to establish the necessary provisions for the preservation of outstanding universal values, also by taking into account the principles of sustainable development, here sets the necessary provisions which are aimed to cover the following: a) world heritage and prospective world heritage areas; b) activities related to world heritage and prospective world heritage areas, affecting the outstanding universal value of the world heritage area and the outstanding value of the prospective world heritage area; c) organizations and persons performing activities according to point b) or affected by this activity. This Law covers world heritage sites or prospective world heritage sites only, ia historical value or a registered archaeological site declared protected by a ministerial decision, resolution or a ministerial decree on the basis of the Act on the Protection of Cultural Heritage and thus enjoying cultural heritage protection, or a protected natural area of national importance protected by virtue of the Nature Protection Act or declared protected on the basis of the authorization granted in the Nature Protection Act, as well as the designated protection zone of a protected natural area of national importance that can be declared.
