Government Regulation (PP) Number 54 of 2017 concerning Regional Owned Enterprises.

This Government Regulation, in order to implement provisions of Article 331 paragraph (6), Article 335 paragraph (2), Article 336 paragraph (5), Article 337 paragraph (2), Article 338 paragraph (4), Article 340 paragraph (2), Article 342 paragraph (3) and Article 343 paragraph (2) of the Law no. 23 of 2014 concerning Local Government, focuses on the establishment, management, financial and operational aspects of Regional-owned enterprises in Indonesia. The Regulation covers the following key points: increasing benefits for the local economy; profit generation; providing quality goods and services; establishment of specific funds for the development of regional-owned enterprises; financial measures. Concerning the enterprises’ contribution to the local development, the Regulation highlights the following aspects: stimulation of economic growth through investment and job creation; improvement of the quality of life for the population, through the provisions of public services, such as electricity and water; utilisation of local human and natural resources in a sustainable manner; development of infrastructures.
