Abstract
This Strategy, addressed to the government, business actors and all the Indonesians, contains Indonesia's framework for the period 2020-2030 aiming at mainstreaming the implementation of sustainable consumption and production target in the national development agenda in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals. The Strategy is based on the economic transformation of the country, whose achievement depends on adequate environmental support and capacity, with reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions, climate change impacts and implementing circular economy, including plastic and paper recycling and reuse, and low carbon development initiative.
The Strategy is structured as follows: 1) introduction, including: global and Indonesian sustainable consumption and production development; challenges of achieving the goals for the Asian continent and for Indonesia; Indonesian Framework 2030. 2) Strategic achievements of sustainable consumption and production in Indonesia, including: previous framework for the period 2013-2019; definition of core areas of sustainable consumption and production: green public procurement, resource efficient and cleaner production, environmental management system, environmentally friendly goods and services, consumer information; initiatives to implement sustainable consumption and production in the sectors of industry, forestry, agriculture, marine and fisheries: green industry standards, intensive silviculture, timber verification and legality system, timber and non-timber forest products, Indonesian sustainable palm oil system, sustainable fisheries and eradication of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. 3) Implementation of Strategy 2020-2030, including: intervention phases, divided in; intervention achievements and indicators: increase in demand and supply, sustainable consumption and production action guidelines for reference, including: food waste, chemicals and waste management, resource efficiency, waste reduction. 4) Closing, including: next steps and the development of a mechanism for monitoring and reporting the implementation of sustainable consumption and production actions.
