Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 35 of 2018 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of Waste Processing Installations into Electrical Energy Based on Environmentally Friendly Technology

This Presidential Regulation, implementing provisions of article 4 of Law no. 18 of 2009 concerning waste management, provides for improving the level of public health and environmental quality in the cities, through the management of waste, and for reducing waste through its processing into electrical energy, based on environmentally friendly technology. The Regulation covers the following matters: waste management; waste management service fee; waste-based power plants; business entity; location and implementation of the waste processing plants; public procurement of goods/services and provisions for government cooperation with business entities in the provision of infrastructure construction; preparation of feasibility study for the construction of infrastructure, including: composition of waste, condition of land, availability of water and water resources; purchase price of electricity; special fund required to accelerate the development and implementation of the construction projects; monitoring and supervision.
