Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia number 53 of 2022 concerning the National Water Resources Council.

This Presidential Regulation provides for definition of tasks and responsibilities of the National Water Resources Council, as a coordination forum for the management of water resources at the national level and concerns planning, monitoring and evaluation of water resource conservation, utilisation and water damage control. The Regulation points out that coordination of stakeholders in water resources management is carried out to harmonise cross-sectoral interests; defines the following functions of the National Water Resources Council: coordination in policies formulation at the national level; coordination in drafting the designation of river areas and related modifications; coordination in the formulation of policies for the management of hydrological system at the national level; providing information and recommendations for handling strategic issues concerning water resources sector; coordination with local Water Resources Councils. The Regulation concerns the structure and the bodies of the Council and the appointment of its members, including representatives of non-governmental organisations or associations; the definition of the working procedure; funding for the activities of the Council.
