Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 4 of 2023 concerning Social Forestry Management in Forest Areas with Special Management

This Ministerial Regulation, implementing provisions of Article 112 paragraph (2) of Government Regulation Number 23 of 2021 concerning Forestry Management, concerns social forestry activities in the form of social forestry forest utilisation permits and the recognition and protection of forestry partnerships. The Regulation defines the following relevant terms: forest area; social forestry as a sustainable forest management system; village forest; community forest; protected forest area; social forestry management; forest utilisation; social forestry management plan; community management. The Regulation covers the following matters: social forestry management agreement in forest areas with special management; social forestry activities, including: planning activities, business development, rehabilitation and reforestation programmes, increasing crop cultivation and planting trees; social forestry assistance programmes; utilisation of state-owned enterprises assets in the forestry sector designed as social forestry areas; monitoring and control activities.
