Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the R.I. No. P.15/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/2/2017 on Procedures for the Measurement of Water Treatment at the Point of Peatland Ecosystem Adjustment.

This Regulation, consisting of 14 articles, establishes procedures for the Measurement of Water Treatment for Peatland Ecosystem Adjustment. It aims to improve the protection efforts of vulnerable and damaged Peatland Ecosystems, safeguard measures are required to ensure ecological functions of the Peat Ecosystem in support of biodiversity conservation, water management, as carbon storage reserves, oxygen producers, and climate balances can be maintained. Based on the provisions of Article 23 of Government Regulation No. 71 of 2014 on the Protection and Management of Peat Ecosystem, as amended, in order to prevent damage to Peat Ecosystem required groundwater level measurement at the point of observation of Peat Ecosystem. Groundwater measurements on the Peat Ecosystem are determined at the control point, called the point of compliance. The Director General in establishing the peat ecosystem observation point as referred to in paragraph (1) shall be based on: a) characteristic observation points on Peat Ecosystem within provincial and district/city areas; and/or b) groundwater monitoring point of business and/or activity area.
