Abstract
This Order prohibits the importation from Great Britain of animals susceptible to foot and mouth disease and unprocessed products derived from such animals except under a licence granted by the Minister Agriculture and Food.
A licence shall be required for the importation of a bovine, ovine, porcine or caprine animal or other biungulate, or the carcase or an unprocessed animal product derived from such animal. “Animal product” includes fresh meat, meat products, semen, ova, embryos, raw milk and products derived from raw milk, hides and skins of such animals. The Order also prohibits the possession or having under his or her control an animal, carcase or unprocessed animal product imported in contravention with this Order.
