Abstract
These Regulations implement Council Directive 88/379/EEC on the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous preparations placed on the market of the E.U. They apply to all dangerous preparations with exceptions for certain categories of preparations, including pesticides, which are covered by other Council Directives. Preparations classified as dangerous by the Directive and some other specified preparations are subject to specific labelling and packaging requirements. A person shall not place on the market dangerous preparations to which these Regulations apply unless they comply with the provisions of these Regulations. The Regulations also implement Commission Directives which adapt to technical progress the Annexes to or which expand some of the provisions of Directive 88/379/EEC.
