Abstract
These Regulations give effect to Community legislation (i.e. EC Food and Feed Hygiene Regulations designed to better protect public health), in so far as it concerns the production, processing, and distribution, exportation and importation of fishery products and fish feed (including additives). Certain establishments involved in the business to which these Regulations apply are required to register and be approved (following official inspection) in order to continue their operations which will be closely monitored for compliance with the law. Registrations and approvals will be dealt with by the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources until the statutory Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority is established under section 40 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006.
