European Communities (Marine Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 (S.I. No. 86 of 2010).

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Marine Equipment) Regulations 2009 to transpose Commission Directive 2009/26/EC amending Council Directive 96/98/EC. The Regulations replace the text in Annex A.1. to the principle Directive. This Annex sets out a list of marine equipment for which detailed testing standards already exist in international instruments. These Regulations empower the Minister to interfere with placing on the market of equipment, even if its bears of a mark of conformity, if it constitutes a danger to health or the environment.
