Abstract
These Regulations amend the European Communities (Marine Equipment) Regulations 2009 to transpose Commission Directive 2010/68/EU amending Council Directive 96/98/EC. The Regulations give effect in Ireland to the replacement of the text in Annex A to the principle Directive. This Annex sets out a list of marine equipment to which the Directive applies. Equipment placed on board an Irish ship shall meet the applicable requirements of international conventions, including MARPOL.
