European Communities (Natural Mineral Waters, Spring Waters and Other Waters in Bottles or Containers) Regulations, 2007 (S.I. No. 225 of 2007).

These Regulations set certain requirements in respect of the exploitation, treatment, packaging and marketing of natural mineral waters, bottled spring waters and other bottled waters and also include requirements in relation to labelling and quality of water. Waters shall not be marketed or sources of waters exploited unless the provisions of this Part are complied with.
The Regulations, among other things, define rules regarding treatment of waters, defines quality and hygiene criteria of waters, provide rules relative to packaging and labelling of bottled waters and provide for enforcement of these Regulations and Community legislation.
