Abstract
This Order gives effect to Commission Decision No. 2004/908/EC of 23 December 2004 concerning certain protective measures with regard to avian products imported from Bulgaria. “Avian product” means live poultry and hatching eggs, live ratites and hatching eggs, fresh meat of poultry, ratites, farmed and wild feathered game, poultry meat products and meat preparations consisting of or containing meat derived from an aforementioned species (other than raw material that complies with the former requirements in Chapter 10 of Annex I to Council Directive 92/118/EEC). A person, including the master or person in charge of a vessel or aircraft, shall not import an avian product from Bulgaria or cause or permit another person to import an avian product from Bulgaria. A person, including the master or person in charge of a vessel or aircraft, shall not have in his or her possession or under his or her control an avian product that has been imported in contravention with the above rule. The Regulations provide for enforcement and defence.
