Abstract
These Regulations specify conditions and requirements regarding organic farming operations including poultry breeding, dairy mastitis control treatment and veterinary treatment of animals, and regulate other matters such as conversion to organic farming and powers of authorized officers. By doing so, these Regulations give full effect to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91, as amended, and specify more stringent rules for the production of livestock and livestock products in Ireland in accordance with Article 12 of the Regulation. By defining the powers of authorized officers, the Regulations give the Department of Agriculture and Food powers to prosecute contraventions of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91.
