Abstract
These Regulations implement in Ireland provisions of Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. Those provisions concern, among other things: access to and operation of the grid; guarantees of origin (i.e. an electronic document which has proofs to a final customer that a given share or quantity of energy was generated from renewable sources); and the exemplary role of public bodies regarding public buildings.
