Abstract
These Regulations give effect to the provisions of European Parliament and Council Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment. The purpose of these Regulations is to contribute to sustainable production and consumption by the prevention of such equipment and, in addition, by the re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of such wastes so as to reduce the disposal of waste. They also seek to improve the environmental performance of all operators involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.
