Abstract
These Regulations give effect to the provisions in Regulation (EU) 1379/2013 for labelling of these products. They prohibit placing on the market of any fishery or aquaculture product in contravention of Article 35(1), (2) or (3) of Regulation 1379/2013 in relation to mandatory information to be indicated to the final consumer or mass caterer. A person shall not include additional voluntary information on a fishery or aquaculture product unless in accordance with Article 39 of Regulation 1379/2013.
The Regulations also concern appointment of authorised (enforcement) officers, functions of such officers, compliance notices and other enforcement measures and offences and penalties. Where an authorised officer is of the opinion that— (a) a contravention of Regulation 1379/2013 or these Regulations may have taken place, may be taking place, or (b) there is a risk to public health, the officer may serve a compliance notice. A compliance notice shall require the person to whom it is served to take such action as specified in the notice.
