Abstract
These Regulations provide for enforcement procedures and penalties in relation to the implementation of EU Commission Implementing Regulation No 1337/2013 laying down rules for the application of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the indication of the country of origin or place of provenance for fresh, chilled and frozen meat of swine, sheep, goats and poultry. These Regulations apply to fresh, chilled and frozen meat of swine, sheep or goats and poultry referred to in Annex XI to the Council Regulation and require a food business operator to indicate the country of origin or place of provenance on the label of meat in accordance with Article 26 of the Council Regulation and the Commission Implementing Regulation and to respect other labelling and traceability requirements for meat. The Regulations also provide for inspection, compliance (notices) and offences and penalties.
