Abstract
This Order makes provision for the disease control measures in the event of an outbreak or suspected outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. The measures concern notification of diseases, declaration of infected places and controlled areas, disinfecting of places where animals are kept, treatment of animals, control of the movement of persons, animals, farm produce, etc., the slaughter of animals and disposal of carcasses, restrictions on the movement of animals and infected material and the control of fairs, markets, transport and sporting events. A veterinary inspector may grant licences for the purposes of this Order and may attach conditions to a licence. The First Schedule prescribes rules applicable to infected places.
