Abstract
These Regulations provide for the management of fishing by Irish boats for ling in ICES sub-areas VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XII and XIV (Community waters and international waters) with effect from 1 July 2005. After that date, an Irish boat of 55 feet or more in length fishing in the specified area may not have or retain on board or land more than 2 tonnes of ling during a specified period. Other Irish sea-fishing boats fishing for ling in the specified area may not have or retain on board or land more than 1 tonne of ling during this period. The Regulations also provide with respect to prima facie evidence in relation with offences.
