Plant Varieties (Proprietary Rights) Regulations, 1981 (S.I. No. 23 of 1981).

The 12 sections and 2 Schedules of these regulations prescribe: (a) the manner in which applications are to be made for the grant of plant breeders' rights, compulsory licences, grant extensions, surrender of rights, registration of title, withdrawal of applications and refusal of applications; (b) application and tests fees; (c) the particulars of applications and of decisions made by the Controller of Plant Breeders' Rights; (d) provisions for the selection of plant varieties in respect of which rights may be granted; (e) crop species to which grants of rights apply.
