Abstract
These Regulations amend the Sea Pollution (Prevention of Oil Pollution) Regulations 2007 in regulation 39D so as to prohibit the carriage of heavy, and therefore highly polluting, oils as ballast by Irish ships while in a designated special area, i.e., the Antarctic area which is the area south of latitude 60° S.
