Abstract
Under these Regulations the following additional functions in relation to the reporting of statistics are conferred on the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland: (a) To collect data from a competent authority and from electricity and natural gas suppliers on gas and electricity prices in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/1952 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on European statistics on natural gas and electricity prices. (b) To collect data from a competent authority and from undertakings concerning energy products and their aggregates in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22nd October 2008 on Energy Statistics. (c) The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland shall have the power to issue Directions to a competent authority, electricity and natural gas suppliers and undertakings in order to perform its data collection functions pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/1952 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on European statistics on natural gas and electricity prices and Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22nd October 2008 on Energy Statistics.
