Abstract
This Order establishes Water Safety Ireland as a body corporate to provide services on behalf of the Minister in relation to the promotion of public awareness of water safety, the advancement of education in relation to the prevention of accidents in water and such other services relation to the prevention of accidents in water and such other services relating to water safety. The Order also provides for the appointment of members of the Council of the Association including the Chief Executive and for procedural and other related matters. The Council shall establish, or arrange for the establishment of, committees, including committees for specific subject areas and committees for geographical areas to be known as “water safety area committees”. Water Safety Ireland shall promote aquatic environmental initiatives.
