Fruit Board Rules ( Production and Marketing) ( Fruit Sorting, Packaging and Labelling) -1977

This Document, of Eight Sections and One Annex, gives definitions and establishes conditions for the sorting, packaging and labelling of fruits in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) establishes that fruits will not be sold , in any way, unless fruits are: a) packed and sorted by species, variety and size; b) of the same characteristic colour and have unified maturity grade; c) clean from leavers, earth, sand and other substances; d) packed in clean containers. Section (3) and (4) provide for labelling procedures. Passing of fruit from a farmer to an authorized marketing agent shall take place only if a label is placed on the containers reporting, in Hebrew, the name of the farmer, the species and variety of the fruits. Section (5) gives power to the fruit board to decide, in special cases, to authorize the sorting, packaging and labelling of fruit not according to this document, in a determinated season and for a determinated purpose.
