Abstract
This Document gives definitions and makes provisions for the setting of Fruit Levies in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) announces the setting of a levy regarding fruit marketed in Israel, for industrial purposes, for exportation purposes and for fruit delivered to the Board. Section (3) gives levy amounts. Sections (4) to (8) establish levy payment procedures. The farmer shall pay the levy via an authorized marketing agent, the industrialist or exporter, in base to the quantity of that has delivered. The authorized marketing agent, the industrialist or the exporter shall deduct the levy from the farmer’s income amount and shall pass the levy amounts to the Fruit Board within the first week of each month and a registry must be held. Section (9) provides for direct Farmer-Fruit Board marketing levy procedures. A farmer that has directly contacted the Board for the marketing of his crop shall pay the levy amount, according to section (3), directly to the board. Section (10) provides for administrative penalties regarding delayed levy payments. Sections (11) and (12) give general information.
