Pharmacists Regulations (Dispensing of Veterinary Preparations), 1988.

These Regulations empower the Director of the Veterinary Services to authorize any person, who is not a licensed pharmacist, to dispense a special veterinary preparation upon specified conditions (sect. 2). An applicant for an authorized dispensary shall submit complete information about engineering drawings of the place, as approved by the Director (sects. 3-10). Sections 11 to 15 make provisions about maintenance, such as preventing health hazards, display of licences, presence of poisons or other toxica or separanda, as well as quality preservation. Dispensing of preparations is allowed on doctor's prescription or on veterinarian's prescription under specified conditions (sect. 16). Veterinary preparations must be kept in their original packages, whole and unopened, according to the authority requirements (sect. 17). Section 18 prohibits any person who is not a licensed pharmacist to make up preparations for medical use. Sections 19 and 20 prohibit on keeping or dispensing special or dangerous veterinary preparations in an authorised dispensary, unless the preparation is recorded in a special card index of special veterinary preparations.
