Seeds Regulation (Growing and Selling Gladiola Bulbs)- 1972,

This Regulation, of 26 Sections, gives definitions and makes provisions for the growing and selling of Gladiola bulbs in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) prohibits the growing and selling of Gladiola bulbs unless according to this regulation. Sections (3) to (6) deal with growing authorization request procedures to be presented to the director of the Seeds Supervision Service. Section (7) to (9) provide for marking and inspection procedures to the bulb fields. Two inspections must be operated on the fields off-which one, in blooming period. No pesticides are to be operated on fields unless upon inspectors authorization. Section (10) deals with preceding crops. The cultivation of Gladiola bulbs in a field in which plants of the Iris family have been previously grown is prohibited unless five years have passed since last Iris cultivation. Section (11) deals with Stolons. The selling of stolons is prohibited unless authorization from the director is obtained. Section (12) provides for cultivation procedures. A two meters row will separate two species in the same field and a sign reporting the species and size of bulbs must be set. Section (13) provides with lopping procedures. Section (14) and (20) report species tolerance for pests and diseases by percentage. Sections (15) to (18) provide for storage, inspection, packaging, and marking procedures. Section (19) provides with standards for commercial bulbs: bulbs must be clean, dry and full. Section (21) establishes size standards. Section (22) provides for authorization and inspection taxes. Section (23) and (24) provides for selling and transferring authorization procedures. Section (25) and (26) give general information.
