Abstract
This Document, of Nine Sections and One Annex, makes provisions and establishes conditions for vegetable marketing, packaging and labelling procedures in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) deals with passing of vegetables and their transportation. In order to be passed and transported, vegetables must be of homogeneous colour and maturity grade; clean of leaves, roots and soil; fresh and with no disease signs or deficiency. Vegetables must be of same species and variety according to Annex One. Section (3) and (4) regard packaging and labelling procedures. Vegetables must be packaged in clean and complete containers; a label must be attached to the container reporting, in Hebrew (a full translation in English is allowed), name and place of the grower and marketing agent, species and variety of the vegetables. Section (5) regards the passing of vegetables of second and third category. The passing of second and third category vegetables listed in Annex One is prohibited unless authorized by the Vegetable Production and Marketing Board. Section (6) gives powers to the Vegetable Production and Marketing Board for the approval, abrogation and postponement of any authorization regarding these rules. Sections (7) to (9) give general information.
