Abstract
This Act, consisting of 13 sections, establishes to levy a duty on the consumption of electrical energy in the State of Assam. It has been enacted to levy on the sale or consumption of electricity. The Indian Electricity Act, 1910 provides for amending the law relating to the supply and use of electrical energy. The Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 provides for the rationalization of the production and supply of electricity and generally for taking measures conductive to electrical development.
