Assam Grant of Fishery Subsidy to Fishermen/Fishery Cooperative Societies Rules, 1971 (Assam Rule XVI of 1971)

Subsidies shall be granted to registered Fishermen and Fishery Cooperatives to improve their socio-economic status and their working conditions: the subsidy shall be paid cash to buy boats or other fishing devices or ice from the Ice plant of the District or rent Cold Room Storage space at the department. Supplies as yarn, net or floats may be distributed. Applications must be made in writing and the competent authority, under the supervision of the Assam Director of Fisheries, shall after scrutiny grant it in cash, supplies or devices and no misuse or abuse of aforesaid incentive or subsidy must be perpetrated on the user side.
