Assam Tenancy Act 2021.

This is enacted to establish Rent Authority to regulate renting of premises and to protect the interests of landlords and tenants and to provide speedy adjudication mechanism for resolution of disputes and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Deputy Commissioner of a District shall appoint an officer to be the Rent Authority within his jurisdiction. Section 33 and 34 provide for the establishment of Rent Court and Rent Tribunal.
