Bihar Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2008

This Act amends the Bihar Co-operative Societies Act, 1935. It seeks to add certain missing definitions and provides more powers to the management committee. The Act also adds a new provision that states that any agricultural co-operative society in a particular village shall be co-terminus with the village panchayat as the two bodies have similar functions. Furthermore, the Act lays down special provisions applicable to societies in short term co-operative credit structures.
